Autumn,

The season that teaches us that change can be beautiful, and an even better reason and season to get outside and enjoy the cooler weather, the crisp air, and all the fall colors and foliage. It’s the year’s last lovely smile, and the tree’s show us how lovely it is to let things go. And to bundle up, get outside, and take it all in.

The University of Minnesota Arboretum offers 1,200 acres of gardens and tree collections, prairie, woods, and miles of trails. Letting one enjoy a fun filled day of nature and all of its glory. Drive or walk the 3 mile loop, hike a trail or two, and learn all about Minnesota’s unique plants and tree’s that can live in this 4 seasons climate.

Located 4 miles west of Chanhassen, Minnesota. At 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, Minnesota

They also offer Free Third MondayFree admission for all on the third Monday of each month!

October is the prime time to see the fall colors. And is great to enjoy for all ages. Let little one’s run through pumpkin built houses and the ” YouBetcha” Stick house, take in views of marvelous scarecrows, stop and take a picture with the infamous Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, and make sure to go in the visitors center to see the gourd-ous pumpkin and gourd tree. When roaming the trails see if you can also find the treehouse that has marvelous views. How would you like to have the Arboretum as your backyard views? I know I sure would.

There’s also always fun events going on so make sure to check their calendar too to see what’s happening.

It’s also a great space to pack a lunch, and enjoy a picnic with friends and family. Or pack up your bikes and roam around the tree’s, prairie, and garden’s.

The next time you’re looking for something fun to do and to get out of the house, make sure to add the Arboretum to your list of places to check out.
