What better way to start off my first adventure of 2017 than with a trip to Minnehaha Falls!
My friend Rachel tagged along with,
because exploring with friends is always better 🙂
And I needed my car karaoke partner in crime!
The falls are located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Come winter time, Mother Nature turns this place into one giant icy slip n slide!
So when visiting, take caution! And watch your step.
The falls completely freeze over, turning into ice caves and the prettiest of hues of blue.
Creating marvelous arrays of giant icicles.
If you’re bored, bold and daring, and looking for an adventurous activity to do in the wintertime, then I highly recommend checking out the falls!
It will be one trip you won’t forget, and don’t be surprised if you do slip 😉

That looks like such a fun place to explore! We used to go to visit the ice caves near Bayfield Wisconsin when I was little and this reminds me of that – how fun!

Yes, Minnehaha Falls is a great place to explore! Even during all seasons! When the weather heats up, there are a bunch of cool hiking trails I recommend to go off and explore. I’ve also seen pictures of the ice caves in Bayfield, and have always wanted to go and check it out! Hopefully soon I’ll plan a trip and go 🙂

To get into the park the only thing you need to pay for is parking. Which is $1.00 per hour, or if you like to walk and get your exercise you can park 1-2 miles away on free street parking. But to enter the park is free 🙂
During Winter, the frozen waterfalls are the main attraction. Come Spring, Summer, and Fall, there are a bunch of hiking trails around the area I definitely recommend to check out!
I have fond memories of visiting the falls as a kid in the summer with my grandma. I have never gone in the winter and will have to get there!
Yes! Anytime of season the falls are pretty to check out, but there definitely is a pristine majestic feel in the winter 🙂
