“Let’s make like a shepard, and get the flock out of here!” – Paddywagon Tour Guide
All aboard the Paddywagon express. Offering day, multi-day, and private/group tours throughout Ireland, we decided to go with Paddywagon for a day tour to the Cliffs of Moher.
By far it was a great experience. A tour group I highly recommend. Start your day hopping on the big, green, leprechaun machine (bus), where you’ll meet your extraordinaire tour guide. The journey starts in the historic Limerick city, enroute to scenic, coastal drive to Western Ireland. Through out the drive your tour guide will inform you on the history of Ireland, Irish culture, along with singing and listening to some fun catchy tunes. The coastal drive includes beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean, castles, and monastery ruins. A great trip into Ireland’s Celtic, Christian, and Medieval past.
Our first stop was to the Mini Cliffs. A miniature preview of Moher’s cliffs.
From there we ventured our way on to the Cliffs of Moher. One of the world’s greatest natural attractions, the cliffs stand at one-third of the height of the Empire State Building. I should also mention to dress warm or be prepared to freeze and be blown away when visiting the Cliffs!
While a beautiful sight, the wind conditions can get pretty extreme! Our tour guide informed us that within the last year 26 deaths have occurred at the Cliffs due to extreme wind conditions, and getting a little too close to the edge.
And let me say, it was definitely Moher Windy than we thought it was going to be! The pictures don’t do justice.
