I made it to England! IMG_2956IMG_2958IMG_2960

We arrived yesterday morning at 10:00am at Heathrow International Airport. From there, we hoped on The Airline,an Oxford Bus Company that you can take to and from Heathrow and Gatwick Airport, to Oxford, and vice versa. We were heading to Oxford. We would be meeting up with my friend Tashi, who is studying there on exchange from Australia. Tashi and I became friends when I went on exchange to Southern Cross University back in 2014.

After an hour bus ride, we were reunited! The cool thing about making friends while studying abroad, is that even though you might have not seen each other for quite some time, things don’t change, and the friendship, and bonds still stay the same. It was just like old times.

After settling in, Tashi showed Brooke and I around Oxford. It’s a quaint town, with a lot of history, and old architecture to it.

We briefly walked around the area, the weeks following Brooke and I would be ending our last week of our trip in Oxford and London, so we would have more time then to go explore. After walking around a bit, we ended the long day with a drink and a bite to eat. We stopped at a pub called The Eagle and Child. It is noted that back in the day, it was a favorite spot for Authors JRR Tolkien, and CS Lewis.

To end the day, we had to make a pit stop to Ben’s Cookies. It’s all the rage around the local area. It’s a chain of cookie shops in England, founded in 1984 by Helge Rubinstein. The cookies are purchased right after being taken out of the oven, and are ooey, gooey, deliciousness! They also are sold by weight.IMG_2977

In the end, it was a great first day exploring England. I’m looking forward to explore it some more in the next upcoming weeks.

But for now, it’s 4:00am,Thursday morning, and I’m heading to the airport to spend a few days in Ireland. I can’t wait to see what’s in store there!

-Cheers!  IMG_2990
